Friend Ciaran and I commiserated yesterday on the implications of the daylight savings move by the US -- not only in practical terms (I can hear myself now when thinking about a call to Belfast: "let's see, is the time difference this week five hours or six hours -- or four hours...."), but also for the political challenges it raises in forcing folks in Europe to confront their status in the global economy....
